Jewish settlers set Palestinian olive trees on fire

[ 25/08/2011 - 01:55 PM ]
RAMALLAH, (PIC)– Jewish settlers attacked and burnt one hundred olive trees in Mikhmas village, south east of Bethlehem, on Thursday, eyewitnesses said.
They said that tens of armed settlers attacked the village and set olive groves on fire, adding that the village inhabitants managed to put off the fire only after 100 trees were destroyed.
The village’s municipal council denounced the attack and called for protecting Palestinian farmers and their crops, especially olives, which are systematically targeted by Jewish settlers each year on the harvesting season.
